Had a 10-foot insulated unit fail on a downtown job last Friday because the sealant didn't cure right in the cold.

What's your go-to winter sealant for big commercial units when the temp drops below 40?

That's a rough spot to be in downtown. @the_william's buddy isn't the only one pushing Tremco lately. Did your crew try to heat the area or the sealant tube itself before applying it? Some guys use those little warmers, but on a big unit that's a lot of surface to keep warm.

We switched to Tremco Vulkem 116 last year and it handled a 30-degree install on a rooftop unit without any issues.

Man, my buddy swears by that Tremco stuff now. He had a whole warehouse job go sideways in November, but the Vulkem held fine on a cold patch repair.
