Showerthought: My kid asked why the sidewalk sparkles and it totally changed how I see my own town.

I was walking my daughter to school in Boise when she pointed at the concrete and asked 'why does it glitter like that, daddy?', and explaining it was crushed granite aggregate made me realize I'd stopped NOTICING the geology under my feet for years.
