Hardware store clerks are sending finish questions my way.
Lately, they point customers to me when they spot my projects. It's a good way to share tips and meet other folks into the craft.

Yikes, that would honestly bug me. I'm just there to shop, not work for free.

Yeah the "yikes" is right, I'd feel like a free consultant they keep on retainer. Next time I'm there I'll start asking the clerk for advice on my taxes and see how they like it. It's a weird move to just hand a customer off to another customer. Guess I should start wearing a "not on the clock" shirt when I grab my sandpaper.
