Vent: That guy who bought 50 pounds of bronze scrap I spent 3 hours prepping last Tuesday

Last Tuesday I got a call from a local scrapyard in Cleveland saying a guy paid cash for the whole pallet of bronze I had prepped for 3 hours. I had sorted and cleaned it from an old job, about 50 pounds of good shavings and chunks. Found out later he was reselling it to art students at the community college for double the price. Has anyone else had flippers swoop in on your scrap before you even got paid properly?

Honestly I found it helps to just focus on what you can control and stop comparing yourself to others. Once I did that things actually started working out way better for me lol.

Read something recently about the "comparison trap" and how your brain literally rewires itself to feel worse when you scroll through other people's wins. Made me think about how I stopped looking at my buddy's fishing photos on Instagram because I'd get all twisted up about my own luck. Not saying it fixes everything but it definitely shut off some noise in my head.
