My friend said my 'found on my walk' photos were boring because they're all just close-ups of flowers

She told me, 'You need to show more of the place, not just the thing,' so now I try to frame shots with a street sign or a fence in the background for context. Do you think the setting is as important as the object you find?

Have you ever thought about what the flower is trying to hide from? A tight shot on a crack in the sidewalk feels like a survivor story, but pulling back to show the whole empty parking lot changes it to something lonely.

That empty parking lot just feels peaceful to me.

Patricia's point about the flower hiding is a good one. Your friend's advice is basically telling you to show the monster in the horror movie, not just the scared face. Sometimes the empty parking lot is the whole story.
