Grumpy about the construction noise, but then I found a whole patch of wild strawberries.
They were tiny and sweet, a perfect little surprise.

Look for the quiet corners when the noise gets bad. Found a raspberry thicket behind a jackhammer crew last summer, spent my whole lunch break picking them. Those little wins feel like getting away with something. Makes the whole grind easier to ignore for a while.

Same vibe with the parking garage by my old job. All concrete and pigeons, but there was a family of squirrels living in the ceiling beams, stealing fries from the trash. Watching them run along the support wires felt like a weird little gift.

Hated parking garages for being so cold and empty. I saw them as just concrete tombs for cars, nothing more. But your story about the squirrels living there changed my mind completely. It reminds me of what @christopher943 shared about finding raspberries in the middle of noise, how life pops up in the hardest places. Now I get that these little surprises are what keep the gray days from feeling too heavy. What's the best hidden bit of life you've come across lately?
