Appreciation post: My sister-in-law pointed out my bridal bouquet stems were always too short
I've been making bouquets for eight years, and at a family wedding last month, she said the bride looked like she was 'clutching a fistful of flowers' instead of a graceful arrangement. I looked back at my photos and she was right, I was cutting stems to 6 inches for control but it ruined the line. Do you all have a standard stem length you start with for a hand-tied bouquet, or is it purely by eye?

Try aiming for 8 to 10 inches instead.

Wait, you've been doing this for eight years and nobody said anything?

How do people go that long without someone pointing it out? I'd be so embarrassed if I found out I was doing something wrong for years. It makes you wonder if people noticed but just didn't want to say anything. That's almost worse, honestly.
