Appreciation post: I finally stopped fighting with my ribbon
For the longest time, I'd just cut a length of ribbon and try to tie a bow freehand. It always looked messy and took me forever. About six months ago, I watched a video from a florist in Portland who uses a simple fork method. Now I wrap the ribbon around a fork's tines to make perfect, even loops every single time. It saves me at least two minutes per bouquet, and the bows look so much cleaner. Has anyone else found a small trick that saved them a ton of frustration?

Saw a thing about using a hair straightener to press ribbon flat before tying it. Makes it way less slippery.

Does that work on all ribbon types, or just certain ones?

What about using a little spray starch after you straighten it? Makes the ribbon stiff enough to hold the shape perfectly.
