Thought I was getting ripped off on inspection fees until a contractor explained it to me

I was about to haggle with a home inspector over his $500 quote for a 1,500 sq ft house. Then the guy showed me thermal photos of hidden moisture in a wall I'd have never caught. Who else felt like they were getting fleeced until they saw the real value?

Ain't that the truth, thermal imaging is a game changer.

See it a bit different myself, I mean thermal is cool but it can give false confidence if you don't know what you're looking at. I've watched guys burn through batteries scanning empty fields for hours thinking they spotted something. Maybe it's just me but good old fashioned tracking skills still matter more.

People get so caught up in the new shiny toy they forget the basics. It's the same with GPS, everyone relies on it now but if you dropped them off in the woods without a signal they'd be lost in ten minutes.
