PSA: Spent 2 years digging post holes with the wrong shovel
I have been using a standard round point shovel for all my post holes since I started fence work back in March of 2021. Last Tuesday an old timer on a job site pointed out I should be using a clamshell digger for the first 2 feet and my back has thanked me ever since. Has anyone else gone years using the wrong tool before someone set you straight?

Funny you mention that, I spent a whole summer trying to chop firewood with a hatchet before someone told me to get a maul. My arms were so sore I couldn't sleep. Pretty sure we've all been there.

Yeah but sore arms from a hatchet really isn't that bad compared to some actual problems people deal with.

Kinda dramatic calling it "wrong" if it got the job done for two years. Some people overthink tools.
