Cross-country shoeing jobs are overrated if you ask me

I took a gig shoeing trail horses in Montana last summer and it was a mess. The pay wasn't worth the drive time and unfamiliar horse temperaments.

Ugh, FLASHY jobs always hide the annoying realities like long drives and tricky temperaments.

Montana trail horses acting up that bad? @miles_fisher is right, the flashy job ads never mention getting kicked at by strange ponies.

Honestly, everyone forgets about the constant equipment battle. Moving between wet mountain valleys and dry plains wrecks your anvil and tools with rust or cracks. I spent more time oiling metal and chasing down clean coal than actually shoeing horses.
