PSA: I wasted $60 on a fancy meal prep subscription that was barely edible

I signed up for HelloFresh last month after seeing all those ads. Thought it would save me time and make cooking fun. Instead, the produce arrived wilted and the portions were tiny. The recipes took way longer than the 30 minutes promised, and half the meals just tasted bland. I lost $60 on that first box and canceled after week one. Has anyone else tried one of these services and gotten burned?

My friend Lisa tried HelloFresh and her "fresh" chicken smelled like sulfur when she opened it. She spent the whole night gagging and ordering takeout instead.

The part about "fresh" chicken smelling like sulfur actually makes sense. Chicken that's gone bad often has that sulfur smell because of bacteria breaking down proteins in the meat. It's not always just a bad batch or bad luck. Sometimes the temperature gets messed up during shipping and that's what causes the smell to show up fast. It's worth checking the packaging for any leaks or tears before you even open it. If it smells off, definitely don't risk it.
