Vent: I was at a high-end hotel spa in Scottsdale and the esthetician used a $4,000 device on my face without even asking about my skin history first.

I mean, I get that fancy tools are cool, but idk, maybe it's just me but shouldn't the consultation come before the machine, even in a luxury setting?

Always ask what they're using before you start. A good place will walk you through everything first.

True, I learned that the hard way.

Yeah, that part about the consultation coming first is key. I read an article where a dermatologist said the device is just a tool, but knowing your skin is the real skill. Using something that strong without a history check is just guessing, and guessing with expensive gear is a bad plan. It's like they skipped the whole point of going to a pro.
