I prefer the small-town esthetician school too, mostly because my face is already a permanent before-and-after picture.

Wait, your face is a permanent before-and-after picture? That's a wild thing to say about yourself... I gotta ask, how bad was the before if you're still walking around looking like that? I mean, I've seen some rough spots in houses I've worked on, but never thought about it that way with a person's face. Anyway, I think you're mixing up before-and-after with like... a permanent scar or something from an accident. Spencer said their face is a before-and-after picture, meaning the school literally changed their looks, not that they walked in looking rough and left looking worse. More like they went in looking one way and came out different, maybe from a chemical peel gone wrong or some heavy skincare routine that permanently altered their skin. I've seen girls at my bar who got laser treatments that left them blotchy for months. That's probably what they mean, not like a house renovation metaphor.
