Just spent 4 hours on a door lock that should have taken 20 minutes

Got a call for a Genie elevator stuck between floors at a 12-story office building downtown. Turned out the door lock contacts were just barely out of alignment, maybe a millimeter off. Has anyone else fought a simple fix that turned into an all-day headache because of something stupidly small?

My record is three hours replacing a lightbulb because I dropped the ladder twice.

That's honestly impressive though. My lightbulb record is more about counting how many times I can hit myself in the face with the ceiling fan before giving up. Typically somewhere around four whacks and a bruised ego. At least when you drop the ladder, the lightbulb doesn't directly attack you back.

Twelve bucks says my record stands at six hours for a lightbulb. I ended up having to go buy a new ladder after the second drop.
