Discovered a weird fix for a dead power supply board
Had a Samsung TV power supply that showed no standby voltage at all. Checked caps, fuses, the usual stuff, nothing. Out of frustration I hit the main transformer with a heat gun for about 30 seconds and it fired right up. Been running fine for 3 weeks now. Anyone else ever tried heating up a transformer to get a board back to life?

Funny how sometimes a little heat is all things need to wake up, life's full of those stubborn but fixable glitches.

Sometimes a little heat is all things need to wake up"... man, that actually got me thinking. I had an old laptop that sat dead for like two years, tried everything to get it to turn on, even took it apart. One day I just set it in the sun for an hour out of frustration, and boom, it booted right up. Heat woke up something in that battery or whatever. It's wild to think how many things we write off as broken when they just need a little warmth or a nudge. Makes you wonder what else we're giving up on too soon.
