Found a family of finches nesting in my hanging fern last week and it made my whole morning
I went out to water plants around 6am and heard this tiny chirping. Looked closer and there were three baby finches tucked inside the fern basket on my porch. Mom and dad kept flying back and forth with bugs. I sat on the steps for like 20 minutes just watching them. Anyone else ever had birds nest somewhere unexpected in their yard?

Honestly, I feel like naming them is kinda overrated. My neighbor just calls his birds "The Squad" and it somehow works way better than having individual names. Plus you don't have to remember who's who when they all look basically identical.
