Dropped my taping knife off a scaffold last Tuesday and the corner snapped clean off

Had to finish the rest of that bedroom with a 6 inch knife cause the hardware store was 45 minutes away and the homeowner was watching me like a hawk, anyone else ever lose a tool at the worst possible time?

Grab a flat mill file and sharpen that broken end into a point. I've done it before when I was stuck without a replacement. It works okay for getting into corners and tight spots, not as good as the real thing but it beats fighting a 6 inch knife on a small surface. Just go slow with the file so you don't heat up the metal and ruin the temper.

Wait, you actually filed a broken scraper blade into a point? @harperg76, that's pretty wild. I would have just tossed it and looked for a replacement, not tried to turn it into a whole other tool.
