Tried using a garden hose to clear a clogged suction line on my old 8-inch cutter dredge.
It took three hours and just made a bigger mess, so I finally called a guy from Mobile who brought a proper jet pump. The difference was like watching a kid with a squirt gun versus a fire hose. What's your go-to method for a stubborn suction line clog?

My go-to method is usually the garden hose too, so you're not alone there. Always ends with me calling the guy with the real tools.

Man, that garden hose trick is a classic trap (we've all been there). @kelly365 is right, it's practically a meme at this point. Did the same thing last season and just ended up soaked and mad, with a bigger plug of junk to deal with. Nothing beats the real gear, that guy from Mobile is worth every penny when you're standing in the mud.
