Spent $400 on a new drafting lamp and it's the best money I've ever wasted

I was working on a set of mechanical drawings last week and the glare from my old lamp was giving me a headache. I finally caved and bought that fancy LED architect lamp everyone talks about. It was almost four hundred bucks, which felt insane for a light. But the difference is real. No more eye strain after a full day at the board, and the color temperature is perfect for reading fine details on vellum. I can't believe I waited this long. What's the one tool you spent too much on that actually paid off?

My expensive lamp is so bright it shows all my mistakes, so maybe it was a bad buy after all!

Good tools make everything else feel easier" is such a weird way to look at a lamp. Maybe the bright light is the good tool, showing you what to fix.
