Just realized my paint roller covers were the wrong nap for months
I was painting a textured ceiling in my hallway last Saturday. Used a 3/8 inch roller like I always do. Looked like garbage after two coats. Buddy stopped by and said I needed a 3/4 inch nap for that orange peel texture. Swapped it out on a test patch. Night and day difference. Saved me from repainting the whole thing. Anyone else find out they were using the wrong nap for their wall texture?

@danielkim ever check the nap rating on your roller covers before buying? I've been wondering if some brands are more generous with their nap measurements than others.

Yeah that's life man. Figuring out the right tool after using the wrong one forever.

Totally get that @danielkim. A buddy of mine spent three years using this beat up old angle grinder with the wrong wheel on it for cutting tile. Finally got the right one and he was like "why did I do that to myself for so long." It's funny how you just get stuck in a rut with stuff like that.
