Why does nobody talk about how much airport lounge passes drain your budget when you fly cheap?
I bought a $45 lounge pass at the Lisbon airport before a 7 hour layover and the food was just cold sandwiches and a coffee machine that was out of milk. That is almost half of what I paid for the actual budget flight to Porto. Counting the two times I did this before, I am out about $120 total for what amounted to a quieter chair and free crackers. Does anyone actually get their money's worth out of these passes, or should I just find the quietest gate and call it done?
Skip the pass and find a quiet gate. Forty five bucks for cold sandwiches is a joke when the whole flight cost about the same. Save your cash and pack a snack instead.
