Last week in Chiang Mai my whole co-working setup crashed because I trusted a $10 VPN

My bank account got locked, my client files got scrambled, and I spent 48 hours panicking in a hostel lobby trying to fix it all - has anyone else had a cheap VPN screw them over this bad in a foreign country?

Did you check if that VPN had a kill switch before you connected?

Did you miss the part where kill switches can fail if the VPN itself crashes? @vera514, I'd double check if that VPN even has a proper one, not just something slapped on the website.
