Hot take: Da Nang's coworking scene went from chill to cattle call in 14 months
I landed in Da Nang in early 2023 and there were like 4 solid coworking spots, all half empty, easy to grab a quiet desk by the window at 10am. Fast forward to now and every single one is packed by 8:30, people hovering for seats like it's a Black Friday sale. My favorite place near My Khe doubled their day pass from 100k to 200k dong and started a waitlist system. The weird part is the wifi got worse, not better, because 60 laptops are all hammering the same router during calls. I get that the city blew up on every nomad list out there, but nobody warned me the whole reason I came here was the quiet. Anyone found a spot in the city that still feels like 2023 or did we all just get outpriced and outnumbered?
What's the actual break point for you though, is it the price or the noise? Because 200k for a day pass is still decent compared to what I've seen, but if you can't hear yourself think then the price doesn't matter much. Have you tried the spots further out from My Khe, like over toward the Han River side or past the dragon bridge? I've heard those are quieter but I don't know if that's still true or if the crowds found them too. And did you lock in a monthly rate anywhere before the prices jumped, or are you stuck paying day rates like the tourists?
