Let my social scheduler run on autopilot for 3 months in Chicago and paid for it hard.
Scheduled like 60 posts through Buffer without double checking the links and my entire November campaign sent people to a 404 page because the URL structure changed on our site and I didn't catch it until engagement dropped 40 percent anyone else had Buffer ghost you like that?

oh man that is brutal. i once scheduled an entire week of posts bragging about our new "special offer" without actually making the offer live on the site yet. like i sent people to a landing page that was literally just a stock photo of a lamp and the words "coming soon." felt like a real genius that day.

The lamp stock photo really seals it. That is such a specific kind of pain where you know you messed up but you just have to watch the train wreck happen. I feel for you. A whole week of posts sending people to a random lamp picture is wild. At least nobody complained or it would have been way worse. Hope you guys got a good laugh out of it eventually.

the lamp stock photo part got me. how long did it take for someone in your company to notice the page was busted? i helped a friend once with their site and we had a typo in the url so the whole offer just went to a 404 error. three days nobody said anything.
