Hot take: My old Wacom Cintiq 13HD was a $800 paperweight for a solid year.
I was too stubborn to learn the software, so it just gathered dust. Anyone else have a tool they bought before they were ready for it?

Yeah that hits close to home. What finally got you to pick it up again, or did you just sell it off? I feel like with gear that expensive, the guilt of not using it is almost worse than the cost.

The guilt is the real killer, right @the_max? I just left it on the shelf so long it started judging me. Figured I should use it before it develops full opinions.

Man, I used to be the worst about this. I'd buy some fancy lens and then just... not take pictures. It felt like a chore. But what @the_max said about the guilt being worse than the cost? That flipped a switch for me. Last month I forced myself to take that "shelf queen" camera to a dumb kids' soccer game. Got a few shots of my nephew that are now my mom's favorite thing. The gear doesn't care if it's a big project or a small one, it just wants to be used. Felt good to remember that.
