Dropped $900 on a "rebuilt" transmission for a 6.0 Powerstroke and it lasted 4 days before it started slipping

I know I shoulda known better but the guy had a shop up in Tacoma and seemed straight up. Said he bench tested it and everything. Fourth day hauling a light trailer up I-5 and it starts slipping in third gear. Called him and he said I probably cooked it by driving wrong. Like what? Now I gotta pay another shop to pull it and I'm out the labor too. Anyone else get burned by a so-called builder that talks a good game but can't back it up?

He bench tested it but blamed your driving after four days?

Told the shop to put their own parts in it and prove it worked right. My warranty claim went through after a video of the same issue happening again. @emery_white That approach might help if you've got the time to film it.

I read somewhere that some shops will flip the part between two test drives to fake a fix... makes you wonder how many people get burned that way. Filming the whole process is a smart move if you can pull it off.
