Shoutout to the lady at the post office who handed me back my mail because the stamp was crooked

I was dropping off some bills at the counter on Main Street yesterday. The clerk behind the line took one look at my envelope and said the stamp wasn't straight enough and might jam their sorting machine. She handed it back and told me to peel it off and try again. It bugged me at first but then I thought about it. She saved me from a delayed payment and a late fee. I just wonder how many people get mad about this kind of thing without realizing it's actually helpful. Has anyone else had a clerk catch something small like that?

That same thing happened to me with a passport application once (totally saved me a headache later).

Haha @harper_foster, I feel you - mine arrived just in time too, right before I totally forgot about it.
