Am I the only one who tried the 'quiet quitting' thing just to avoid small talk?
Tbh, I gave it a shot last month at my office in Dallas, thinking I'd just do my work and avoid the petty gossip, but it totally backfired because my boss pulled me aside and asked if I was mad at everyone. Has anyone else tried this and ended up looking like a jerk instead?

Adjusted my approach by setting a clear boundary politely. I started saying "Hey, I have a 2pm deadline today so I'm going to hunker down and focus, but let's catch up later!" and then actually followed through once or twice a week. It helped people not feel snubbed while I got my peace and quiet most of the time.

Kinda funny how trying to avoid small talk just makes people think you're plotting something, right? Guess I'm just not cut out for the whole mysterious silent treatment thing.
