Vent: drove 40 minutes to swap a lamp and the guy handed me a box of broken cords instead
Met a guy in the Target lot off I-35 in Round Rock on Sunday to trade my extra floor lamp for what he said was a working desk fan, and he shows up with a milk crate of cut up extension cords he swears is a "fan kit" I just need to put together. I took the lamp back and left, and now the lamp is still sitting in my trunk while I figure out if I should even bother listing it again. has anyone actually had a swap go right on the first try or is this just how it goes?

Used to figure most swaps were fine since people just want to dump their old stuff, but that Round Rock mess sounds way too common now. Half the listings I see are guys with a box of parts calling it a set, and you end up driving an hour for nothing. Keeping the lamp and selling it cheap on your own block beats another lot meetup with a milk crate.
