Traded my air compressor for a hand pump, no regrets
I had this old 6-gallon air compressor sitting in my garage for 2 years, barely used it. Someone in the Facebook marketplace group wanted to swap for a decent floor jack, but at the last minute they backed out. Then I saw a posting here for a heavy-duty hand pump that looked brand new. I almost said no because electric tools just seem better, right? But the guy said he used it for bike tires and inflatable kayaks and never missed the noise or the cord tangles. I traded my compressor for that pump plus $15 cash. Three weeks in, I've inflated two car tires, a raft, and my neighbor's basketball, and honestly it's faster than I thought for small jobs. Has anyone else downsized from powered gear to manual stuff and actually liked it more?
Getting rid of my corded drill for a good old hand crank one was the best swap I ever did for little jobs around the house. The cord never reached where I needed it anyway and dragging out an extension cord for two screws felt dumb once I got used to just grabbing the manual one. Simple beats powered more often than people want to admit, especially for stuff you only do now and then.
