How I folded fitted sheets wrong for 35 years

I'm 42 and just figured out I've been folding fitted sheets like a total idiot my whole life. My girlfriend watched me struggle with one for a solid 5 minutes and finally showed me the tuck-the-corners-into-each-other method. Took me 30 seconds after that. Anyone else have a basic life skill they learned way too late?

My mother taught me the corner tuck method back in the 1980s and I still mess it up half the time. The thing is, a wrinkled fitted sheet on the bed isn't the end of the world, but it does bunch up under your back while you sleep if you don't fold it somewhat neatly. I think the real issue is that a lot of people don't know there's a proper way because nobody ever showed them. My wife still throws her sheets in a ball and they come out fine, so maybe it just depends on the person.

Man, I don't know, is it really that big of a deal? I've been folding my sheets however they land for years and they still go on the bed just fine. Nobody's ever come over and inspected my linen closet to see if my fitted sheets are perfect. Seems like one of those things people make into a bigger problem than it is.
