Showerthought: the wet palette tip from a random guy at Hobby Lobby in Reno actually worked
He told me to stop fighting my acrylics drying out and just use a shallow tupperware lid with a wet paper towel under parchment paper, and three weeks in my paint still stays workable for two hour sessions instead of turning to gum in ten minutes, so now I'm wondering what other cheap kitchen swaps you all use for your craft tables?
Random guy at Hobby Lobby in Reno is out here doing more for the art community than any YouTube tutorial I've ever watched. Meanwhile I'm over here using a $12 plastic palette that dries out faster than my leftovers in the fridge, so jokes on me I guess. My grandma used to keep her brushes in a coffee can full of rice, and honestly that trick worked better than half the stuff I've bought. Kitchen swaps are slept on, cupcake tins hold washes great and those little condiment cups from takeout are perfect for mixing small batches. Just don't tell my husband why there's a lasagna pan full of soapy water under the sink.
