Can we talk about the dentist waiting room trick that got me flossing every night
Sat in a chair at my dentist's office in Boise three weeks ago while the hygienist scraped away, and she said most people quit flossing because they do it at the sink right before bed when they're already wiped out. She told me to keep a bag of those little floss picks on my coffee table and do it while watching TV instead, and I've missed maybe 2 nights since. Anyone else had luck moving a habit to a different spot in the house instead of just trying harder?
keep a bag of those little floss picks on my coffee table" is smart but here's the thing nobody mentions, you're basically tricking your brain with a visual reminder. The floss sitting right there in your face does the work, not some sudden burst of willpower. Same reason people leave their gym shoes by the door or put fruit on the counter instead of in the drawer.
