That bus driver who memorized every passenger's stop

I ride the 42 bus from downtown Portland to the Hollywood neighborhood, and this one driver, Mike, would call out stops before anyone even pressed the button. "Hey, you're getting off at 28th and Sandy today, right?" he said to me after just 3 rides. It was wild how he remembered 20 different people's routines and saved us all from missing our stops. Has anyone else had a commute buddy like that who just made your day?

Wait, wait. He remembered your stop after only THREE rides? That's insane. I've been taking the 72 bus for six months and half the drivers still look at me like I'm a stranger when I get on. I don't know how Mike pulled that off, maybe it's some kind of memory trick or he just really cares. Either way, that's next level service right there.

Tried smiling and saying his name when I got on, @milaw14, and it made a big difference. Drivers are human too, they remember you more when you treat them like a real person.

72 bus is a whole different beast though. I think Mike's just a rare breed, not a sign that bus drivers in general are like that. @clark.alex probably got lucky too.
