Showerthought: The guy on the 7:15 bus taught me to pack my own coffee

I was on my usual ride downtown last Thursday when a man spilled his full cup all over the seat next to him. It took him ten minutes to clean it up with napkins, and the whole bus smelled like burnt beans. I realized I waste five bucks and risk a mess every time I grab one on the way. Now I just make a thermos at home. Does anyone else have a commute habit they broke after one messy event?

Oh man, that reminds me of an article about "latte spills" being a top reason people switch to travel mugs. Your story is the perfect example of that. It's crazy how one messy moment can change a whole habit.

But what if the spill is just a quick fix and not a real habit change? People might buy a travel mug after a mess, but then they just go back to disposable cups when it's dirty or left at home. A single bad moment doesn't always rewrite your daily routine. It often just adds another item to your cabinet that you forget to use. The real habit shift needs more than just one coffee disaster to stick.

Spot a real pattern in the chaos. That spill wasn't just bad luck, it showed a daily risk. The smell probably sealed the deal for good.
