Stopped at a coffee shop in Denver and saw a guy type his whole password in plain sight

I was grabbing a coffee last week and the guy next to me was logging into his bank on the public wifi. He typed his password, which looked like 'DenverBroncos78', right out in the open with people walking behind him. He didn't even glance around first. Public wifi is bad enough, but letting everyone see your login is just asking for trouble. Has anyone else seen something like this and said something to the person?

Public wifi is actually the bigger risk than someone seeing the screen. That password is traveling through the air for anyone to grab.

Actually, public wifi is the bigger risk, but someone looking over your shoulder is still a real problem lol.

The thing is, a lot of public wifi uses encryption now, like at Starbucks or airports. So grabbing the password out of the air isn't as easy as it used to be. I mean, the bigger risk on open networks is someone seeing what sites you visit or tricking you into joining a fake network. Shoulder surfing is still a classic move though, idk maybe it's just me but I see people typing passwords in plain view all the time.
