Serious question, I saw a bank in Cleveland with a public Wi-Fi sign that said 'Free and Secure'

I was there last Tuesday to deposit a check, and the sign was right on the door. It made me think, because telling people public Wi-Fi is 'secure' feels wrong. Anyone using that network could have their login details seen by someone else on it. I think we should stop calling any public network secure, even at a bank. Has your bank done something similar?

Honestly, I get the worry but I trust my bank's tech. They probably have a separate guest network locked down tight. @miles_fisher those coffee shop stories are wild, but a bank is a whole different level.

Consider the legal side of that sign. Calling it secure could create a false sense of safety and might even open them up to liability if something happens. It is a risky word to use for any open network.
