Finally locked down my home router settings after a week of tinkering

I spent about 6 hours last Tuesday just going through my router admin panel. Turned off WPS, changed the default admin password, and set up a separate guest network for my smart bulbs and thermostat. Next morning my neighbor mentions his Ring camera keeps dropping off WiFi. Turns out I accidentally changed the channel width and it messed with his signal. My bad. Sent him the guest network login and now we both have stable connections. Anyone else accidentally cause neighborhood WiFi drama while trying to be secure?

The Ring camera thing sounds like a stretch honestly. WiFi interference from a channel width change is usually pretty minor unless you were blasting at max power.

Did you offer to set up a mesh network for the whole block too, @dianahayes?
