White paper tone shifted after one CSO call in 2022

We used to write threat reports like academic papers, then a CSO told me 'nobody reads past page 2 unless they see their own industry in the headline.' That call changed our whole template, we went from 30-page deep dives to 8-page case studies with real breach names. Has anyone else seen the same swing, or are long-form docs still winning deals for you?
