Two months to align our threat report with sales, why is this so painful
We finally got our quarterly threat landscape report to match what the sales team pitches. Took 8 weeks of back and forth. The infosec folks kept adding technical depth, sales wanted it dumbed down to one paragraph. I get both sides, but nobody owns the messaging so it just ping pongs. Our marketing director finally sat everyone in a room and made us write the customer pain point first, then layer the tech on top. Has anyone else dealt with this split where the product team and sales speak totally different languages?

Honestly, the marketing director forcing you to start with the customer pain point is the only thing that saved you, but it sounds like the real problem was no one owning the message from day one.
