My best collecting week ever started with a $2 yard sale find in Spokane.

That one old bottle led me to a whole box of 1920s soda bottles in a barn the next day, and by Friday I'd traded three common ones for a single rare amber one I'd been hunting for years, so what's the luckiest chain of events you've ever had while hunting for stuff?

Found a beat up old toolbox at a flea market for five bucks. Had a complete set of vintage socket wrenches buried under the junk. Sold the set alone for over two hundred.

Disagree on selling those so fast. Vintage tools often gain more value if you hold onto them a while. You might have left money on the table.

That's the thing about flea markets, you never know what's hiding in plain sight. Makes you wonder what other everyday stuff we're walking right past.
