My buddy tried to write a song about stealing back the quiet feeling of a summer morning from his childhood. He spent weeks trying to describe the exact shade of blue in the sky and the smell of cut grass. It never really worked, but the attempt was pretty cool.

Sounds like he got lost in the details. Sometimes you just gotta feel it, not paint it.

Used to believe you needed every detail right to capture a feeling. Reading jake986's post about his buddy's song changed my mind. The real beauty is in the trying, even when the words don't perfectly land. That struggle to describe the sky is the whole point.
