The day a flock of geese decided my tower crane was their new home

I was on a high rise job in Omaha, about 200 feet up, when a whole family of Canada geese landed right on the boom. I mean, they just parked themselves and started honking. I couldn't move an inch for over an hour because I didn't want to hurt them. The foreman was yelling on the radio, 'We need that concrete bucket NOW,' and I'm just up there like, 'Sorry, boss, I've got tenants.' They finally left after the sun warmed the metal up too much for their feet. I learned that sometimes the job site wildlife is the real foreman. Has anyone else had a bird or animal completely shut down your operation?

My buddy had a badger dig under the foundation forms for a new garage. The thing just camped out in its new den for two days. They couldn't pour the slab with a live animal under there, so the whole crew just stood around waiting for animal control.

Oh man, that beats our seagull problem. Had a pair build a nest in the gravel pile for a foundation. Shut us down for weeks because of some bird law. At least your geese were just rude tourists, not squatters with legal protection. Makes @the_max's badger story sound like a quick coffee break. Nature really does not care about the schedule.

Did animal control actually get that badger out?
