Blew a hydraulic hose on a Liebherr 1300 last Tuesday
Was setting a 45 ton chiller on a rooftop job in Tulsa when the return line on the boom let go. Sprayed oil everywhere, took me an hour to get a replacement from the local supply house. Had to hand signal the spotter the whole time since coms were down. Anybody else keep spare hoses in their truck box or am I just being paranoid?

Nah, you're just cluttering up your rig.

Man, spare hoses ain't paranoia that's just basic common sense. I had a 988 loader blow a steering hose in the middle of a night shift at a quarry, took three hours to get a replacement because the supply house was closed. Since then I keep a full set of common sizes in a sealed tube behind the headache rack. Sure it's a little extra weight but when you're looking at a $2000/hour downtime penalty that tube pays for itself real quick.

@uma_ellis got it right, downtime costs way more than a few hoses stashed away.
