Hanging a reading hammock in my nook backfired and now I'm torn
So last month I got one of those indoor fabric hammock chairs for my corner reading spot. Looked amazing in the listing, all dreamy and suspended. Hung it up from a ceiling beam in my apartment near Portland. First few days were fine, but I noticed I kept getting a sore lower back after 20 minutes. Turns out the sway messes with my posture way more than a regular chair. I love the cozy cocoon feeling though, and my cat refuses to sleep anywhere else now. Do I keep it for the vibe and use a lumbar pillow, or just admit defeat and go back to my old armchair? Has anyone else tried a hammock setup and actually made it work for long reading sessions?

I ended up keeping mine but only for short bursts. What finally worked was adding a firm pillow behind my lower back plus one under my knees, that took all the strain off. Also learned to sit more sideways and diagonal instead of straight on, the hammock shape works better that way. Still can't do full book sessions in it though, about 30 minutes max before I'm done. Cat was the real boss, she claimed it within a day so giving it up was never an option anyway.
