Almost burned my apartment down with a $9 plug-in wax warmer last Tuesday
I bought a cheap scent warmer at a dollar store on 5th to make my rental smell nice, and last Tuesday I walked in to find the plastic base melted and stuck to my side table. The outlet was a 1970s ungrounded one, and there was a scorch mark on the wall behind it. I got lucky, but I want other people doing cheap makeovers to know that secondhand lamps and no-name warmers are not worth the risk. What do you all use for cozy lighting and smell that plugs in without becoming a fire hazard?
