Fine line between cozy and chaos in Stardew Valley

I was having a perfect fall day on my farm. Had 100 cranberries ready to harvest. Then my dog trapped me against the fence for 3 in-game hours. By the time I wiggled free, it was 5pm and half the crop wilted. Do you restart the day or just take the loss and move on?

Oh, I've been there. That's so frustrating, isn't it? I had a similar thing happen with my goat - it kept butting me against a tree during the last hour of the day and I lost half a season of blueberries. I always restart the day in those cases, especially if it's a big crop like your cranberries. There's no shame in hitting that "reset" button when the game mechanics work against you like that.

Oh man, have you ever had one of those days where the game just decides you're not having fun? I had a buddy who was trying to harvest his ancient fruit wine on the last day of fall and a slime popped out of nowhere and knocked him into the river. Lost like three full kegs worth of wine because he couldn't get back to his farm in time. He was so mad he didn't restart that day, but looking back he probably should have. I always tell people, just restart the day, there's no penalty for it in this game unlike some others.

Three full kegs of wine? That hurts just thinking about it. I lost an entire stack of starfruit to a random lightning strike in summer once. @xenaf51 is right, there's no shame in restarting the day, I do it all the time if the game tries to mess with my crops or animals. My neighbor thought I was crazy for restarting over a single lost blueberry, but those things take time to grow.
