One chat with a librarian about lighting changed my whole desk plan
I spent months trying to make my corner desk feel warm. I had about 40 bucks of fairy lights and a salt lamp, but my space still felt like a cave. Then I mentioned it to this librarian at the branch near my place in Tucson, and she said something like, "You know, the library puts task lights on every table, not for the looks, but because your eyes relax when the light hits your work, not the wall." That just hit me. I was lighting the room, not my actual notebook. She showed me how she uses a small arm lamp with a warm bulb pointed right at her book. So I swapped out my fake candle setup for one cheap desk lamp, aimed it down, and now I see way better and the coziness finally feels real. Has anyone else had that moment where someone on a routine errand just deletes your old setup? What do you use for focused light?

Oh man, that librarian basically rewired my brain too. I had a whole moody corner with those colored bulbs and then someone at a hardware store told me to just buy the cheapest work light and point it at my keyboard, now I feel like I'm in a spaceship cockpit and I love it.
