Tried a weighted blanket vs a heated one for naps and the winner was clear

I got a 12 pound weighted blanket from a friend and found it too heavy to move around in, so I swapped to a heated throw from Target and now I fall asleep in 5 minutes flat. Has anyone else found heat beats weight for cozy naps?

Have you tried a heated mattress pad instead? I had the same problem with weighted blankets feeling like I was trapped, so I switched to a heated throw that I can kick off if I get too warm. The heat just relaxes my muscles way faster than pressure ever did. I actually keep mine on medium for about 20 minutes before a nap, then turn it down to low so I don't wake up sweaty. The weight always made me feel claustrophobic after a few minutes, but heat just puts me right out.

Heated pads work for some people but honestly I cant do it. The heat makes me feel like im cooking alive after a little while even on low. With the weighted blanket I just feel cozy and held in place. Different strokes for different folks I guess. My wife loves her heated throw but I always end up kicking it off the bed.

Honestly I read somewhere that heat works better for some people because it actually raises your core body temp faster which tricks your brain into sleep mode. Weighted blankets are supposed to do the same thing with pressure but for me it just felt like a workout trying to adjust positions. Plus with a heated throw you can control the temperature exactly while a weighted blanket is just stuck at whatever weight you bought. My cousin has a 20 pound one and she loves it but I tried it once and felt like I was being smothered slowly. Tbh I think a lot of it depends on if you're a hot sleeper or not.
